Help Desk Officer

Job Summary

As a help desk officer, you will respond to calls and provide timely user support and solutions to problems related to computer hardware and software as well as products and services.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors’ degree preferred
  • Has strong English and excellent communication skills
  • Passionate about IT
  • Knowledgeable in fundamental operations of relevant software, hardware and other equipment
  • Experience in researching, analyzing, and interpreting automated system problems
  • Knowledge of latest and relevant call tracking applications or software
  • Experience in customer service practices
  • Experience in troubleshooting and providing help desk support
  • Attention to detail
  • Planning and organizing skills
  • Can excellently work under pressure

Responsibilities

  • Communicate effectively to gather correct information on computer-related problems
  • Decide on the most efficient solutions to issues
  • Communicate with internal departments and external service providers to provide solutions
  • Install, format, and maintain desktop and laptop computers
  • Conduct repairs or replacements on computer hardware
  • Diagnose and resolve technical hardware and software issues in person, phone, chat, or email/li>
  • Follow up with customers and users to ensure complete resolution of issues
  • Adhere to standard help desk procedures
  • Log all help desk interactions using company-approved tools
  • Identify and escalate situations requiring immediate attention
  • Research answers to internal and external questions or redirect problems to correct resource
  • Inform management of recurring problems
  • Stay updated on latest system information, changes, and updates
  • Help update training manuals for new and revised software and hardware information
